About Me

Hi! Thanks for visiting! Let me tell you a little about me. :)
I graduated in 2009 from Northern Illinois University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After that, I was a one-on-one aide, I substituted for a while in a few different districts, and then I was hired as a long-term substitute for a maternity leave in seventh and eighth grade. Middle school is definitely not where I ever saw myself - but I actually liked it a lot. I was really lucky to have a small class of middle schoolers who were psyched when I brought in games and activities to supplement our book work!

Some fun things we did were creating political cartoons about Washington's presidency and designing our own solar cookers!

Working hard with my seventh and eighth graders helped me get my current job in first and second grades!

I'm currently taking classes to earn my ESL endorsement. I am learning a TON! It is one of my aspirations to teach in an ESL classroom or in a program of some kind.
